re: #112 Dr Lizardo
Partially, yes, but Thomas Cook also has a crushing mountain of debt, £1.6 billion worth. And competition, particularly online competition, has been eating them alive for about a decade or so.
Brexit was just the cherry on top of the shitcake.
The Guardian article notes:
Around 600,000 customers in total are abroad with Thomas Cook - which has significant operations in mainland Europe - including around 300,000 Germans and tens of thousands of Scandinavians.
Is anyone asking if the German government is going to repatriate 300K Germans? I can’t seem to find anything in English on the situation.
