Even if I understand intellectually why it is necessary to vote Dem in November, after the comments I’ve heard from the party leadership in the past 48 hours, I realistically have to ask myself if there’s a fucking point to the exercise. The picture being painted is the same depressing mess we’ve come to expect: Put up no serious fight, offer up all sorts of excuses for why a fight is actually a bad thing, and then gut any suggestions of consequences for Repub bullying while lecturing us all about rules of decorum that the opposition long ago shat all over in pursuit of power.

Perhaps we can hold out for a strongly worded letter of disapproval after the swearing-in./////
