How about cuts to taxes and regulation, instead of pork-barrel ‘stimulus’?
Cutting taxes and regulation does not generate revenue. Bush tried to have his Treasury Department put a shine on that turd and they just couldn’t. Deferring maintenance won’t put more people to work, it just jeopardizes their commute to it.
Materials and labor prices are down now. The government can capitalize on that to get needed repairs completed and facilitating a more rapid recovery at the same time.
