If the missile was indeed launched from Russia proper, well, there’s gonna be a big old shitstorm, that’s for sure.

That might be a split. One report (caveat!) says the missile was launched from a separatist installation but it had been getting constant Russian air radar data for initial guidance. Then presumably right after launch that missile would self track.

Methinks the Russians were happy to help separatists down Ukrainian military flights.
