So if abortion already functions as a red-line for the fundamentalists in this country, can it also function as such a line for the Democratic party?

I feel a bit queasy about that. Perhaps some may think I have a luxury in regards to this issue, being male. Maybe, not sure.

I know of no pro-choice person who cares one whit about what any individual feels about abortion. We only demand that our elected lawmakers do not infringe on our rights to our own beliefs and choices. You used the slavery analogy which is a good one. Would you consider compromise on that issue? If a candidate said he believed in slavery but claimed he wouldn’t vote for it, would it not make you question? Is that a red line that would make you queasy?
