So his argument is the Dems win big in urban areas. Well? Do something about that instead of rigging the system. The Dems don’t rig the system because you pile up big wins in rural counties. You simply can’t accept that land mass and population are proportionally related.

Pretty much that’s his argument.

Wisconsin is the most-extremely gerrymandered state legislature. Without the gerrymandering, Democrats would be in charge, and he knows it (which is why he lost his reëlection bid).

Since cities lean Democratic, and gerrymandering can’t affect a statewide election, the only argument he can make is to say their votes should count for less.

I don’t believe it would be possible to actually implement such a scheme, but the point is to make rural conservative voters feel they are victims.

The other thing the GOP could do is change their platforms and messaging to appeal to city voters (which means giving up carrying water for the ultra-wealthy money hoarders and corporations, and giving up the racism inherent in conservatism). They won’t do that.
