I hate to say this but this country has become hyper-political. Everything is the fault of Obama, Bush, etc. I blame the 24/7 news cycle. And just a reminder, I don’t watch cable news. Or regular news. But when I read comments about a football game and someone is saying “he’s prolly a liberal and was never taught to catch a ball” or “He didn’t catch the ball because he was thinking of ways to avoid paying taxes”, we, as a nation need to step back. Not stop but for fucks sake. Let it rest.

The new communications systems have connected us more intimately and allows information and opinions to pass faster and wider.

We’ve always been hyper-political, nasty, belligerent, ignorant, partisan, emotionally driven by rage, hate, and fear. New paths of communication only put us in touch with what’s always been there.
