The boy was seriously contrite. He gave her a bouquet and a big hug when they met the second time.

At the risk of sounding preachy, both exhibited true Christian behavior. She forgave him and reached out. He apologized, admitted he was wrong and said he was ashamed.

Now if we could just bottle this and disseminate it among the Deplorables, we might be able to save the world.

I would edit that to read “both exhibited true empathy” but that’s just me. Christianity does not have a patent on empathy and compassion. At the risk of sounding preachy, of course. ::)
