My brother tried pulling that on me a few months ago. He saw the Dinesh Dsouza propaganda film that focused on the early Democratic ties to slavery, KKK, and racism, ignoring the historical shift in the 1960’s- 70’s, where Southern racists abandoned the Democratic party for the Republican party.

It’s such dishonest crap. I’ll point this out to your brother and any Republican though. In 1964, when the CRA was signed, the Democrats nominated the man who signed the bill and the Republicans nominated one of the few Republican senators to vote against it. Civil Rights was not a priority for the GOP after Kennedy beat Nixon.
