While I don’t believe that the accusations are falsified, I do believe that someone may have let the White House know days in advance that this story was close to publication and that’s why they felt overly confident that their “salvation” lay in the courts.

Nah, I think the “salvation” in the courts bit was because they thought the judge in the Manafort case was going to dismiss everything after the hearing the other day. But that’s likely not going to happen.
