I found UK trains quiet, clean and not as roomy as that picture. AC not needed. I’d be happy to settle for them.

The rail system throughout Benelux was uniformly excellent. We rode the Thalys between Brussels and Amsterdam, and at one point clocked out at 295 km/h (they had wifi on the train and an app that let you monitor speed and location). I don’t think I’ve ever gone that fast on the ground before.
