Voting for him grudgingly won’t get it. This is a fucking close-run thing. We have to back the nominee with absurd effort, passion, and expense. We have to smile and have a good time doing it. We have to know that this might be the best thing we ever do for the country.

He’s not my first choice.

In my view it’s ok, even good, to have opinions and express them before and during the primaries. This is when we find out how the potential candidates take hits and tune their messages. Both Obama and Hillary were much better candidates by the end of the 2008 primaries because of the hard-faught battle.

I was mostly ok with Bernie and even his fans, until they didn’t shape up once it was apparent he couldn’t win. If he had done what Hillary did and thrown his full support behind the nominee, no one would hae remembered or cared about their little tiffs during the primaries.

With regard to Biden in particular, his message that Democrats aren’t angry and just want to go back to the good old days before 2016 is a terrible one, and we should all point that out to him and see if he can catch a clue. If not, he shouldn’t be the nominee, because he is too naive and dishonest to be a good candidate or a good president. If he still wins the nomination, then yeah, we have to suck it up and be good foot soldiers. But now is not that time.
