I’m really trying to listen to these, in earnest!

This song is… not bad. I actually listened to the whole thing! It’s so formulaic though. There’s… I don’t know. For lack of better words, it just doesn’t have balls.

The biggest reason they are so popular is people know exactly what they are getting with Nickelback, and the songs aren’t terribly challenging. They just make some people dance. It’s sort of like not everyone wants to read Moby Dick but would prefer romance novels.
