Like how Stalin bumped off Yagoda and Yezhov. Had he lived a few more years, he almost certainly would’ve had Beria bumped off (well, if Beria didn’t strike first, and there are those who think he did).

I remember the discussion in a history class years back, about whether Stalin died of natural causes. At the time, I said that none of the people around him would have the guts to help him out of the world (and the class agreed with me). About one minute after the class ended, I started thinking about Beria.
