“Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” broke my brain. Mostly because we had to read it, but teachers even 45 years ago wouldn’t comment on how fucked up it is.

If it were my class, I would then assign Thomas Paine’s “The Age of Reason,” whether or not doing so would get me fired.
