I don’t get what difference making them take a vote on this would actually have. It’s clearly them that’s responsible for this; they denied the president the address of congress. I don’t think anyone would be confused about it.

I think, in retrospect, the GOP was actually ready to let the government default. I think we dodged a bullet.

As much as you or I might want a firebrand-wielding Obama to scream obscenities at the GOP, I’ve gotta wonder what good it would actually do.

To me, the GOP is a lot more like a bully who wants to get the prize pupil to actually fight, so that he can get him in trouble too.

Yeah, I met a lot of bullies like that, going to school. You know what happens when you keep ignoring the bully? They ratchet things up, until you finally snap at the most importune time, making things all the worse.
