Was talking to a detective/mystery fan a couple of weeks ago about a John D. MacDonald I’d recently read (“Murder In The Wind”), and he told me that according to the NY Times, MacDonald is considered old fashioned. I had to laugh. MacDonald is a terrific writer, and the NY Times is silly.

Good writing is always good writing. I love Bill Pronzini (The Nameless Detective) who he’s been writing for decades.
