So, I have a friend that’s somehow involved with The Centrist Project, and he has been plugging it with so much pride, and I have many friends that are supportive of his efforts on FB. But I can’t seem to grasp this group. And I’m wondering if I’m just too damn partisan to be open-minded enough to grasp what they are trying to accomplish… LGF has many viewpoints, many differing from my own that I gain insight from reading, so I’m wondering, am I missing something here?

… …

Or am I just too hyperpartisan and part of the problem this group is out to remedy?

They seem confused. I guess they are trying to pull the middle together from both current parties. And it used to be that way because both parties looked to the middle as that was the numbers. So it is not the Democratic and Republican parties historically as much as the people of this country being led to finding the fringes and one party going to that extreme and the other left fighting it and looking like partisans because of the gaps created.

I guess over the last 30 years (since St. Reagan) politics was turned into sport by the media and the parties (in coordination?) and with sports you get us versus them and then you sell it, feed it, push it. Go team…the other team sucks.

I’d mark it down as naive at this time. There is some worth in the endeavor though but a lot would have to change. It took some time to get here. It’s going to take some time to get back it we ever return.

Will it lead to another party? Do we really need another party?
