Most rural people would agree with this statement: “I’ve fired a gun in the air many time, and no one’s ever been hit by a bullet.” Part of the problem is scale. They see one shooting every so often, and cannot comprehend the idea that they have a higher rate of homicide than a city. But, part of it is stubbornness.
