GOP/NRA - the background checks are a false sense of security.

Right. Because the GOP/NRA have prevented them from having the kind of teeth needed to prevent the wrong people from getting guns. Mental health? Age? The GOP/NRA don’t want to cross reference that, and the NRA made it clear that they don’t want age limits either.

Then again, the age limits are a deflection - mass shooters have all too frequently been white guys in their 20s. The overwhelming majority of guns used were legally obtained.

They were the good guys with guns right up to the moment they became mass murderers.
