I read that thread, too, and retweeted it. I’m not a wall expert, but everything she says makes sense. You can’t just build a 2,000 mile long wall in jiffy time and expect it to survive, maintenance-free, forever. Hell, while you’re building one section, the previous section will already need repairs. So, it will be an ongoing drain on manpower and the US Treasury (and US taxpayers).

Plus, there is no federal project that has not run over budget, AFAIK. That’s an incontrovertible fact. Anyone who says a 2,000-mile-wall/fence/beaded curtain can be built for $5.7B is an idiot.
