cell phones generally don’t work here, although the Panasonic system can sync with it.
We are pretty much stuck with a landline if we want phone service.

at&t gave us a microcell about 10 years ago - no charge because we too have no cell service - some sort of dead spot
it was the predecessor to the newer cell phones wi-fi calling feature

after a mostly reliable 5 years, we dumped our landline.
its a minor PITA if the power goes out or we need to call 911 (so far, never)
