That should be “ekes”, but “eeks” (as in the noise that will be made all over the country if Jones wins) fits, too.

It’s a shame, though: Doug Jones seems a capable, competent and honest public servant: other than A) being a well-known football coach, and B) not being Roy Moore, it’s hard to see what Tommy Tuberville can bring to the Senate. Other than that magic (R), of course….
