I replied that “Weapons of war don’t belong in the hands of civilians”. His response? An insult: “AR15 is NOT a weapon of war. …. It only looks scary to ignorant people who don’t know what they are talking about.”

My stock response to that point - which everybody uses - is

Any weapon that can kill 59 people and wound hundreds from 300 yards away is a weapon of war in my book.
