The biggest threat to gun owners is the intransigence of the most visible of us. If ‘they’ ever ‘come for our guns’, it will be because society as a whole has determined that we can’t be trusted with them, not just because of a few mass killers or gangs, but because the most vocal gun advocates have a view of guns and gun rights that is clearly deranged.

Imho-The most vocal of us is not actually us. The most visible=The NRA. Or in tragedies, the mass shooter himself. That’s your most visible. Until somebody (Say maybe Parkland teens) demands change, which these days only happens after tragedy, the intransigent NRA are largely silent publicly. They just keep funneling gun maker money to congress. Oh Congress the one bunch more intransigent than us gun owners. They won’t step up on existing laws or enact new ones.

I have a hard time gauging anything by what the NRA has to say other than to diminish their clout specifically. Ted Nugent? That’s is not us. That is a walking talking aberration of false charisma and highly questionable celebrity that sits on the NRA board.
