Good morning lizards!
I just read about the Tony Stewart incident. I watched the video and it’s hard to say if it was a complete accident.
If you know much about sprint cars on dimly lit dirt tracks and pissed off drivers in black driver suits and black helmet running at the offending car I think you can figure out what happened.
I think vision is a big culprit in this accident. I don’t think it is easy seeing anything coming from the side in a sprint car. Heck, I think it is hard to see straight ahead. Add in what I mention above and vision is a real problem.
A whole heck of a lot that could and did go wrong. I’m going with tragedy coming from bad decisions in the heat of the moment surrounded by a lot of bad situations and circumstances.
Hopefully there is a lot to be learned from this to help the always ongoing increase in racing safety.
