Because social programs are seen by the GOP as a waste of money that make people dependent on government largesse. But Defense Department contracts are seen as as a good thing.

So if we can figure out a way to incorporate those who rely on social programmes as “The American Defense Company, LLC” or something, then they’ll fund those programmes? /s
