No, we were in Riverside county at the time. Fourth grade, to coincide with state history curriculum we had to build models of the missions, I did San Gabriel (mom’s maiden name). It was an utter shit show.
I grew up in Covina; right near the LA/SB county line.
We also went to San Onofre; where we were informed that nuclear power was guaranteed 100% safe. That nobody had ever died at a nuclear power plant, and there’d never been any accidents or any escaped radioactivity. That gives you some idea how old I am.
