Totally off topic, but thought I’d share…
Back in middle school, The Kid really started getting into a band called Slipknot. He saw them live a couple of times with The Husband, but I only found a couple of songs listenable. Anyhow, fast forward, and a couple of years ago the lead singer, Corey Taylor, did some work for the You Rock Foundation, which helps prevent youth suicide. I became a fan of him, and his other band Stone Sour. This afternoon I listened to a whole live all acoustic show he did in London a couple of years ago. It’s online and free at thecoreytaylor.com. It was fun, and he did songs by Johnny Cash, The Cure, The Eagles, The Buzzcocks and a lot of his own. Plus there’s about 45 minutes of Q&A with the audience. I really loved his connection with the audience and you can tell he’s grateful to do what he loves and he loves his fans. It’s something different and fun, and he curses like a motherfucker so be warned.
