Last night on NPR there was a piece where they went to Ohio to talk to people about the shutdown. The Trump voters they talked to uniformly said “We need The Wall!”, but some didn’t think this was the way to get it.
But here’s the thing - Ohio is way, way far away from the border. And the area they visited - Chillicothe, I believe - is almost 90% white and the Hispanic population is <1.5%. Yet again, it shows that the people who have the least exposure to immigrants are the worst hardliners on immigration.
