The 800lb gorilla in the room is that Trump is the very model of a modern Republican.

There is no pathology in Trump that is not also dominant within the Republican party.

Therefore the media must normalize Trump as long as they continue with the Great Both-Siderist Lie of pretending that Republicans are a normal center-right political party.

They aren’t. They are as floridly malicious and insane as Trump himself.
