1. The number of people that Democrats added to their base by declaring they wouldn’t accept large donations is probably inconsequential. They’ll still be targeted as being dominated by big donors and special interests regardless of the extent of truth of those allegations; they just won’t have the money to push back against them.
2. Democrats can’t eliminate the SuperPacs on their own side. They don’t have that power. If a wealthy supporter wants to create a SuperPac, they create a SuperPac. That’s all there is to it. It’s like saying that Democrats should prevent their supporters from wearing white after labor day or eating meat on Sundays.
