Not only did the players live by special rules, but this story makes my blood boil:

Sickening. The victim was made to feel guilty for being abused because it would have hurt the school’s football program otherwise. WTF.

It’s the classic way of making the victim go away. “If this is true, it’s going to completely ruin the lives of people who are more important than you. Are you sure you want to keep talking about this?”

I am so glad that the giant sexual abuse scandal at the high school I used to teach at was handled appropriately.
