I can only imagine how pissed off Rush Limbaugh is that Rove bothmentioned that commie bastard FDR and rated him above Junior.

He did that because he isn’t insane. As a writer in National Review put it in 1999 regarding FDR “How can he not be called ‘Great’?”. The challenges FDR confronted and generally overcame were of such dreadful magnitude that he that overcame them was great simply be definition. Even if you don’t agree with much of what FDR did, he was still the President needed in a very bad time, and that makes him great. Of the 20th Century presidents, I’d say he was the greatest of all.
