I have a colleague who had to drive from NY to WY after visiting family. They drove through the Dakotas. Not a single person to be seen wearing masks in stores/businesses. It’s as though they think covid isn’t a thing (it is).

he set the narrative

if he did nothing else, addressing these two things differently from the start:
- the narrative (this is serious)
- the masks

by themselves would have made a huge difference
