Also, I think it’s outrageous to drug test welfare recipients. It seems equally unconstitutional to me. It’s also very stereotypical to see the poor as drug addicts. It’s just not true.

The statistics do show that substance abuse is higher for people in poverty, but the reason, I believe, is that the numbers for recovery aren’t counted among the middle and upper classes.

You could also say the same about a number of different groups. For example, should college students be drug tested before they receive state aid?
