I dont think Rush gives a damn about the republican party. His ratings are up with Obama in office. He feeds on it. If a republican wins the presidency, what will he do every day? He will have no one to rail against.

It is not in his self interest for the republicans to win, he needs Obama to feed the narrative, stir up emotions with the daily faux outrageous outrage.

The republicans have boxed themselves in to having a defacto leader who can destroy them on a whim.
