Question: How is the “felon” classification in regards to gun ownership defined?

Pot bust? DUI? Prison term for stealing a ATM machine from a K-Mart (really in our news today, and there’s still K-Marts?)

Don’t see any feasibility of this - serve every single felon on the books and search his/her house for guns?

It’s for any felony conviction. Do time for anything that costs you even a year and a day in jail and you’re a felon according to WI law. All misdemeanor offenses have maximum sentences of a year or less.

So yeah, pot head, meth dealer, rapist, murder, it’s all the same to the law on that topic. Black powder & pre-1898 made firearms are very popular in some circles as a result of this.
