Creationism is learned behaviour. Mental illness is not.
There is a point in that video, in the time-cut that I indicated, where the presenter does something that is more than simple inculcation.
It is the presentation of irrational, and frankly illogical, argument as a rational thought.
This goes beyond simple deception (on the part of the presenter, a way of duping marks.) It’s the inability, not just the unwillingness, to recognize fallaciousness.
There is failure in cognizance here. Now we can argue from where this may arise - an emotional need vs. the absence of lucidity. So I guess I am open to reframing my claim that creationism is an emotional illness, rather than a mental illness, though I am not sure that this is a distinction that is determinable.
