That last one was definitely cutting it close. I heard the tsunami was moving around 500 mph out at sea before it reached the shore. Even as it moved over the land, it was still moving pretty damn fast. Not a good time to stall the engine in your car.

That part of Indonesia is relatively isolated and quite poor. Getting relief supplies and assistance to those people (at least 60,000 homeless the last I heard) is a major problem.
