It’s all about Israeli election optics.
A public meeting between anyone in the Trump administration and Zarif would be used against Bibi in a big way by his opponents on both the Israeli left AND his vocal critics on the right.
Several thousand times more if the man meeting Zarif was SCROTUS himself.
