I went there once - one of my Imaginary Friends (as Mrs. FBW called my friends from the Bowsite) organized a get together there as part of the Farewell Tour for a beloved member of the crowd.

As I neared the place, I started seeing signs for acts I thought had long since given up the ghost. I mean, it was 2003, the Soviet Union hadn’t existed for a dozen years, and Yakov Smirnoff was headlining? “Eeen Amerrika, subject verbs object. BAHT, een Soviet Union, object verbs subject!”

My cousin and her then-girlfriend moved out there after the housing bubble/crash. I flew out to visit for a week. I was very intrigued by the day trip to Eureka Springs in Arkansas. But the Ozarks otherwise didn’t do much for me. Too much a city boy, I guess.
