This is your regular reminder that religion has no place in politics.

Much too general a statement.

Of course, religion is going to shape our sense of morality and that in turn is what shapes our laws.

There is no place in politics for sectarian theological debate. Which is what a lot of abortion legislation is about, some cherry-picked reference to “you loved me when I was still in the womb” as proof that we have the Moral Duty to hunt down harlots and all who would aid and abet them.
