I’m so old, I remember when people were predicting that Trump would suffer a blowout so massive come reelection that the party would immediately disavow ever being associated with him and his name would stricken from all memory within a fortnight of Biden being sworn in.

I’m so old that the we all, including the GOP candidates, figured he would flame out during the 2016 primary and that the person who criticized him the least would be able to pick up the bulk of his supporters.

They failed to appreciate the strength of his media-star immunity to any consequences for anything he said or did.
