You know what I would do if there were a blog online where I found the content and the commenters consistently not to my liking, the way Buck apparently feels around here? I would stop visiting that blog.

Same here. I came across LGF several times before things changed; didn’t like it, moved on. Ditto some other non-political forums; they either weren’t a good fit for me or they changed in a way I didn’t like, so I simply moved on (I had already established other types of contact with the people I didn’t want to “lose”).

There seems to be something else at play here at LGF though. Some people seem to feel a sort of ownership of this place. It’s kind of odd because it’s not particularly unique in the sense of being a community—i.e. there are other forums where people form close bonds and get together IRL to help one another or just to meet each other (either as a group or individually).
