The decent thing they could have done was to build a tiny wicker pile of dogshit, film the burning of the only print of the remake inside it, and release that instead.

Film makers need to realize there are some stories that don't need to be retold in a new unique way. Especially when the retelling is a rewrite of original. Beowulf, Starship Troopers, anything Disney.
