The Democrats in Congress are, on average, more liberal than they used to be, back when there were more Joe Manchin’s in the party, Back when Ralph Hall called himself a Democrat. That was back when there were a number of liberal Republicans. Both parties had a number of people that would cross party lines to vote. But, the far left of the party hasn’t really moved much, unlike the far right of the party. So, yes, the idea that both parties have become extreme is MBF-ing and avoiding discussing what is happening to the GOP.
