re: #136 Mattand

Just reading about the Senate Trumpcare bill over at TPM. I keep going back to Josh Marshall’s axiom that moderates always cave, and that all of the fuss they’re raising right now is merely theater.

God knows I’m as far from a political expert as one can get. Thing is, I keep looking at the news reports saying “Two Senators are Confirmed ‘No’, Who Will Be the Third???”, when, IMO, the headline should be “GOP in Senate All but Assured That Their Horrible ‘Fuck the Poor and Everyone Who Isn’t Us’ Bill Soon to Pass.” (TPM is just as guilty of this as everyone else, it should be noted.)

I mean, seriously, does anyone think this won’t pass? Think about it: most of the Republican Senators are literally looking at the damage the bill will cause, almost immediately, and going, “Yeah, that’s fine.”

These monsters are still so fucking driven by trying to fuck over Obama. Plus, they looked at Trump, knowing what a cancer he would be on this country, and were like “Don’t care. This is how we ram through all of our radical, regressive policies.”

I really do try to keep a positive attitude about all of this stuff, but this fucking game of “Will they or won’t they?” is bullshit. They wlll. They’re Republicans: no matter how fucked up the policy is, they fall in line.

Their general attitude of “Party before country” makes as big as a terrorist group as ISIS, and one that is doing way, way damage than ISIS ever will.

I don’t think it will pass. So I am going to be that somebody.

Have you contacted any Senators and asked them to vote no?
