I would never suggest that the people in red states and rural areas should be left hanging, let alone that existing infrastructure be torn down to spite their residents. It would just be nice if they reciprocated the feeling and didn’t elect the very assholes who vote against things like disaster aid or for things like taxing grad students for covered tuition.
