Nor do they have the electronics to convert gold into a monetary value to determine if a soda can be purchased. Its like having a $20 and going to a vending machine that only takes ones.

I like to bring this up when we talk about gold because it really is about the value humans see in it, rather than some intrinsic “natural” value that can be useful.

I have to run, but I just wanted to mention that gold was usable as currency because it’s pretty, shiny, and had no other use (like gemstones). Well, except for gold teeth.

Of course, now that we’ve reached the Electronic Age, it suddenly has a use, which makes it even worse as a currency than it was before.
